A look at the lives of dancers, weavers, sailors and other workers in Ancient Egypt.
It is so easy to become overwhelmed by the multitude of tacky and gimmicky books about Ancient Egypt which are focused not on the life of that magnificent culture, but on its death and remains. We chose this book and recommend its use as part of our 5th grade Ancient Mythology main lesson as it is refreshingly simple, focused on the lives of everyday people from this culture.
Each two-page spread comprises a first person narrative and a picture of that person engaged in his or her task. The color palate is soft, based on the colors of the desert, and the effect is beautiful.
Please note: this book is a component of our Ancient Mythology Bundle.
