As a culture, we Westerners–we Americans?–do tend to go all out when it comes to children’s birthdays. But is this necessary? Is it even harmful, counter to how one might wish to raise one’s child?

In this short talk, Donna gives 5 tips on celebrating birthdays with little ones, older children and with teens; what to do with inappropriate presents; and noting special birthdays.
