Shipping

Please ensure that when you make your purchase you check carefully to ensure that it is accurate (no mistaken multiple items, correct shipping address and so on) because once made, orders cannot be changed. All sales are final and there are no refunds or returns. We regret that any orders sent back to us will be refused  and returned to the sender at their expense.

We only ship with UPS. UPS does not accept either APOs or PO boxes as addresses. If yours is a PO box, please find a friend with a  house address who can accept your order and use that address at checkout.

If you are in HI or AK your postage costs will be considerable–we have tried in vain to discover why it costs more to ship to Alaska than to Australia with UPS but without success.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT USE ANY OTHER METHOD OF SHIPPING THAN UPS AS OUR SHOPPING CART, INVENTORY AND SHIPPING SOFTWARE ARE NOW ALL ALIGNED WITH UPS.

We are very sorry but we cannot sell any of our materials as pdfs–there is a thriving blackmarket in Christopherus materials and pdfs only make this easier. Our very small family-run business cannot cope with what is, in effect, stealing from us. It is painful for us when people write and promise not to pass on their pdfs–please do not put us in the awkward position of having to say ‘we don’t know you’….We are very sorry about all of this and ask our friends and supporters to please understand.

LULU print on demand orders

We are slowly moving all of our publications to print on demand via Lulu. Non-Lulu materials will be sent from the Christopherus office and Lulu materials will be sent by Lulu. Lulu of course needs to print the publications as well as ship them and so this will take longer. Please do not contact us about your Lulu order—you will be sent an email when you order Lulu-printed materials from us which will give you information about that order.

EXACTLY WHICH PUBLICATIONS ARE PRINT ON DEMAND (LULU) IS CLEARLY STATED ON THE PRODUCT PAGE. ONLY THOSE ITEMS WHICH SAY ON THEIR PRODUCT PAGES THAT THEY ARE PRINT ON DEMAND WILL (OR CAN) OF COURSE BE SENT THAT WAY. IT WILL TAKE US A WHILE TO SWITCH EVERYTHING OVER TO LULU.

Shipping and Handling Information

We unfortunately must request that customers do not ask us how long an order might take to a specific place–we cannot answer this question and cannot take responsibility for orders being shipped within a specific time. UPS tells us that domestic orders take between 1 and 5 days. Please note that this only applies once UPS receives the packages from us. We endeavor to  ship twice a week. but cannot guarantee this. During this time of corona virus and global upheaval, orders can of course take far longer than they used to take.

Please always check the information box on the top right hand corner of our homepage for any dates when our office is taking orders but not shipping, due to vacations and holidays. Help us be a sustainable and healthy business by understanding why we close from time to time to get a bit of a breather!

Shipping Confirmation, Tracking and Queries

You will receive an email confirmation of shipping that will include a tracking number so you can check the progress of your shipment. Please utilize this service as we cannot track your orders for you. Please note that you cannot track orders through the Christopherus website or your Christopherus account.

International Orders

NOTE: As of Fall 2022, we have started moving our publications to Lulu as print on demand. One of the reasons we are doing this is because Lulu prints in a number of foreign countries including Canada, Australia and the UK—this means that shipping for these countries is calculated at domestic rates! This will be an enormous saving for our customers abroad! Those publications will also NOT be liable to Customs fees as they are not international items.

When ordering our non-Lulu publications, please carefully consider the following: If you get ‘snagged’ by Customs fees, we certainly understand that you might refuse your package—but do know that we cannot accept that return and therefore cannot, under any circumstances, give you a refund. This means that international orders are something of a gamble—please consider this carefully before you order.

We continue to subsidize international shipping between 15 and 20%.  UPS tells us that international orders should take between 2 and 7 days to reach their destination. This of course means 2–7 days once they receive the package from us–see above for details on how often we ship. During this time of corona virus and supply chain chaos, shipping can of course take far longer than it used to.

Christopherus cannot take responsibility for any Customs or additional taxes you might incur from the authorities in your country. We strongly suggest that international customers thoroughly investigate tax and Customs rules in their country. Please refer to the top of the page where we specify that we cannot, under any circumstances, accept returns, including those made when a package is refused because of exorbitant Customs fees.

Sometimes people ask us to write ‘gift’ on their invoice so they can avoid Customs. While we are certainly sympathetic to this request, we of course cannot do this as such an action is illegal and it is we that would be responsible.

NOTE FOR UK CUSTOMERS:

Since Brexit, since January 2021, the UK requires that companies outside the UK collect VAT for all orders UNDER 135 pounds sterling. Please therefore note that since collection of VAT is beyond what we can provide,  customers in the UK must make purchases equal or above this amount. As currency fluctuates, please do find out how much this equals in US dollars before placing your order.
Orders made for less than this amount will, unfortunately, be refused. We will of course contact you and you can then add to your order to take it to a high enough amount.
Do contact your local (UK) tax offices to investigate this issue further if necessary–we unfortunately are unable to advise about this matter.
