- Hi Dear Christopherus Homeschool families,
We are looking to connect with other Waldorf/Steiner home educators in Canberra, Australia.
We are just beginning our home educating journey with our 10yr old son. We have foundations in Steiner education, our eldest attended a local Steiner school until class 5, and our 10yr old attended in his Kindergarten years and then we moved to the public system, due to personal circumstances. We are venturing into home education with our 10yr old as the public school system has not been a good fit for him. He experienced anxiety & school refusal. We continued with Steiner practices & rhythms at home throughout the years to enrich our lives as we went through the public system, as circumstances didn’t allow us to homeschool & I also didn’t feel confident to home educate until now. I am so grateful to find the Christopherus curriculum to support us on this journey.
We also love spending time in nature, are keen gardeners using permaculture principles & have an interest in Biodynamics. I also completed my tertiary studies in fine arts at the ANU School of Art, so we love creating, painting & drawing.
Looking forward to connecting with other families in the Canberra region on this path.
Regards, Fiona Richardson (Canberra) – nallorich (at) gmail.com (08/19)

Please get in touch alesandradeluca (at) icloud.com – Alesandra, Francis, Remy and Arlo (Melbourne) (05/21) - Hi friends, We are new to the homeschool journey. Our little one started prep this year at a Steiner school in Melbourne and there’s much we love about it. We have, however, been dreaming for some time of building a Steiner-inspired homeschooling community as a way of not only engaging with her education, supporting her interests and sharing the journey with her but of spending more time together as a family and investing in our home and community life.
We’d love to hear from and/or meet with other Waldorf homeschoolers in our part of the world to talk about community building, curriculum and the home schooling journey.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
With warmth and gratitude, Eloise, Saeed and Avaz. eloiseoxer (at) gmail.com (04/21) - Hi

- Homeschooling Waldorf-style with the Christopherus curriculum; doing Grade One right now with almost-seven-year old, with a 3 year old and 6 month old twins keeping life very busy indeed. My biggest struggle is getting crafts in…with 3 younger children, I have difficulty finding time to pick a craft, gather all the material and carry it through. Our favourite thing to do is get outside and “learn by doing” in nature. We’d love to meet up with others in Central Alberta and would LOVE to form a bit of a co-op effort. The Ambling Ramblers. He has done three years in both, the latter because we moved to rural NZ and a school was not available. We have all suffered from the change and it is apparent we have lost some of the magic that is childhood. I believe I am able to to save him by jumping onboard now. Regarding the curriculum and resources, I am stuck. Some info and advice would be amazing! Ray – raymaria (at) me.com (02/21)

- We are a family of 5. We have a first grade girl, kindergarten girl and a 3yr old boy. My name is Lindsay Smith, the mom. I was born in Eastern KY, but grew-up outside of Atlanta. My parents moved back to our hometown to retire on a farm and we settled in Louisville to be closer to them. I was a former Atlanta nightclub event planner, but became a stay at home mom and homeschooler. I am a part-time ESL teacher and do that work in the morning and evening. I taught at a Louisville cottage school last year, but for 2020 we are focusing on our Christopherus first grader and family at home amidst the 2020 chaos. My husband Justin is an advertising director at a local firm. He’s a little bit metal and I’m a little bit hippie, but we’re both progressing along a spiritual path and living a healthy and toxin free lifestyle. We like going to forests, creeks, farms and playgrounds. “why do I feel like I’m filling out a dating profile?” (LOL!) PS: I’m an ennegram 5w4 and an INTP on the myers briggs. - My name is Kerry. My daughter, Nova, is 5 years old, and will be starting Kindtegarten this coming fall.
She has been attending an in-home Waldorf preschool for the past year and a half. This has been a very positive experience. I have also been reading about Waldorf education and philosophy, and attending many tours and events at our local Waldorf school over the past few years.
As the time approaches, however, things are not working out as I had hoped. The private Waldorf school is financially out of our reach at this time, and the public charter school that is Waldorf inspired has too long a wait list for her to get in this year.
As I have researched the alternatives (especially the traditional neighborhood school), I am realizing just how absolutely different these schools would be from what I want for my daughter.
I don’t know if homeschooling for the coming school year is even an option at this time, as fall will be here before I know it.
I am still wanting to consider the prospect of homeschooling her for the coming year. Beyond that, if I cannot get her into either the private Waldorf school, or the public charter, by first grade, I definitely will want to do whatever I can to create the right homeschool program for her.
I haven’t given homeschooling much thought or research up to this point. I am just starting to look into it. When I have thought about it, I have felt strongly that I would like to do it with a small group. I feel that there are advantages to her learning/being with other children, and I think an effort by a group of parents will offer a wider variety of strengths, as well as making it more practically do-able.
If there is anyone out there in the Eugene OR area who is interested in home schooling this coming fall, or who already is doing so, from a Waldorf approach, I would love to exchange ideas with you, and ask/answer questions, to determine if this could be the right approach for our family. Please contact me via e mail: coldchaos66 (at) yahoo.com or call me: 541-606-8904 Thank you,
Kerry Neill (06/14/2017)

Clare – Cooley.clare (at) gmail.com (04/2018) - We are developing and organizing a Waldorf specific co-op for homeschoolers on the Eastside (currently we are primarily Plateau, Issaquah, and Sno-Valley.) We will deepen our knowledge of Waldorf education, Anthroposophy, and support each other on our paths with our children. Please join if you are interested in developing this group with us! All interest levels welcome – we all have varying experience in homeschooling, anthroposophy, Steiner, etc. Help us awaken this intention! https://www.meetup.com/Eastside-Waldorf-Homeschoolers
