Note: this item is printed on demand.
This guide accompanies both 7th and 8th grade human physiology. They cannot be used without it.
Please note that 8th grade human physiology follows on directly from 7th grade human physiology—your child needs both parts. If you are only beginning in 8th grade, please use both 7th and 8th grade human physiology.
Our carefully composed human physiology main lesson material (part 1, 7th grade, part 2, 8th grade) are truly made for homeschoolers. There is a lot of sensitive material covered by the study of human physiology: a keynote in both parts (grades) is health and well-being. And each of you will have different ideas about diet, exercise, spiritual well-being, sleep, screen use, vaccination and medicine, and so on. Human reproduction (7th grade) is also a topic which must arise out of the authenticity of your family culture. These are all subjects best studied at home, in the reality of how you choose to live. We give suggestions for these topics but leave how you approach them open.
And so much of the Teacher’s Guide is focused on encouraging you to find ways to hold, carry and teach such subjects.
At the same time, we give plenty of guidance to help your student with:
- Summaries, reports and dictations including using conventional resources
- Conversation with you, the Teacher
- A Special Project (independent work) in 8th grade
- Creating tests for the end of each main lesson
- Artistic work
- A visit to an art museum
We also provide material on a Goethean (Waldorf) approach to a subject like this (why the heart is nothing like a pump for instance) and thoughts on how to navigate the disparity between your child’s research text, what we have written in her Student Workbook and what you say about various subjects. In 7th and 8th grade, it is time for your child to consciously experience the possible contradictions and disparity between different views.
We also provide examples of student work for you to consider as well as sample tests.
